We want children to value coming to church! Each Sunday, your children can gather with others in their age group for Bible lessons and fun activities. Learn more about what to expect on a Sunday morning below.
Sundays | 9:15 – 10:15 AM
Teachers prepare for Sunday School by using a curriculum called The Gospel Project. Our goals during Sunday School are to provide a safe environment for preschoolers to learn that Jesus loves them and so do we! Lessons are created for our babies through five-year-olds in an age-appropriate and engaging way!
Sundays | 10:30 – 11:45 AM
While our younger preschoolers (ages 1 & 2) are cared for during the worship hour by dedicated volunteers, our older preschoolers (ages 3-5) participate in Discovery Land: Discovering Truths in God’s Word. We use the First Look Curriculum from Orange Resources for our Preschool Worship time. Each Sunday, the preschoolers begin with Make It Fun Activity, which helps prepare them for what they will learn in worship time, creating a fun and meaningful time for them. Next, they travel with their leaders from their classroom to our Preschool Worship room. During worship time, they sing songs, play games, hear a Bible story, and learn foundational biblical truths. Each month, we focus on memorizing one verse, one song, and one Biblical truth, and a new Bible story is introduced each week.
Each Sunday, we will print your name tags ahead of time to have a touchless check-in. The computer will print two tags–one for you to place on the back of your preschooler and the other to keep with you to present when you pick up the child. Each week, the labels are printed with unique security codes and watermarks. The labels also help us to easily identify allergies, diet restrictions, and other special instructions.
When your student is on the campus of our church, his or her safety is our top priority. That’s why we work very hard to have plans in place in the event of an emergency, like a fire or tornado.
Throughout the year, we plan special events for preschoolers and their families to help them build a sense of community with their church family. These events are open to the community and any family with preschoolers. Some of our events include a unique Christmas party, Easter Egg Hunts, and summer fun days.
At Harpeth Heights, we believe that parents are the primary spiritual leaders of their families. Our child home dedications reflect this belief as we partner with parents from the very beginning, making a covenant as a church with the family to support, pray, and walk alongside them in this journey called parenting. Family dedications also known as child home dedications are scheduled with the parents and Discipleship Minister when the family is ready to stand before the church and make a covenant with God and the church to raise their children in a Christian home. Each child is presented with a special Bible as a symbol of the church’s promise to help the child on the journey to learning about having a personal relationship with Jesus.
Preschool Play Days
Preschoolers are exploring their world and learning about all God created! It is even more fun to explore and learn with friends! Playdates are a great way to help your preschooler develop friendships, try new things, and build great memories! The Church at Harpeth Heights Preschool Play Days is open to the community! Be sure to register to ensure your preschoolers get special treats on our playdates! For some playdates, space is limited so please be sure to let us know if you are coming as soon as you can!
