Scripture

Luke 23:46, Psalm 31

Jesus’ last words, like his first words, on the cross, were a prayer. William Barclay suggests that this prayer could very well be a prayer Mary and Joseph taught Jesus as a young boy to pray before bedtime. We should make these words from Jesus our own each day. And in doing so we help ready ourselves for whatever life may throw our way. Jesus ended his suffering by teaching us how to pray every day – not in fear but in confidence and hope.
